DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 76/2025

amending Annex IX (Financial services) to the EEA Agreement [2025/1008]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (‘the EEA Agreement’), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1220 of 14 July 2022 laying down implementing technical standards for the application of Directive 2014/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the format in which branches of third-country firms and competent authorities have to report the information referred to in Article 41(3) and (4) of that Directive ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex IX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following point is inserted after point 31bazzi (Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2022/1299) of Annex IX to the EEA Agreement:

‘31bazzj.

32022 R 1220 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1220 of 14 July 2022 laying down implementing technical standards for the application of Directive 2014/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to the format in which branches of third-country firms and competent authorities have to report the information referred to in Article 41(3) and (4) of that Directive ( OJ L 188, 15.7.2022, p. 98 ).’

Article 2

The text of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2022/1220 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 15 March 2025, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) , or on the day of the entry into force of Decision of the EEA Joint Committee No 70/2025 of 14 March 2025 ( 2 ) , whichever is the later.

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
