DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 46/2025

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2025/1023]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/2220 of 26 July 2024 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of heavy-duty motor vehicles with regard to their event data recorder and for the type-approval of those systems as separate technical units and amending Annex II to that Regulation ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter I of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following indent is added in point 52 (Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council):

‘—

32024 R 2220 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/2220 of 26 July 2024 ( OJ L, 2024/2220, 2.10.2024 ).’

The following point is inserted after point 52h (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2024/1721):

‘52i.

32024 R 2220 : Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/2220 of 26 July 2024 supplementing Regulation (EU) 2019/2144 of the European Parliament and of the Council by laying down detailed rules concerning the specific test procedures and technical requirements for the type-approval of heavy-duty motor vehicles with regard to their event data recorder and for the type-approval of those systems as separate technical units and amending Annex II to that Regulation ( OJ L, 2024/2220, 2.10.2024 ).’

Article 2

The text of Delegated Regulation (EU) 2024/2220 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 15 March 2025, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
