COUNCIL DECISION

of 14 April 2025

appointing one alternate to the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators

THE COUNCIL OF THE EUROPEAN UNION,

Having regard to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union,

Having regard to Regulation (EU) 2019/942 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019 establishing a European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (1), and in particular Article 18 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Regulation (EU) 2019/942 provides that the Council is to appoint five members and their alternates to the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (the ‘Administrative Board’).

(2) Regulation (EU) 2019/942 provides that a member of the Administrative Board is not to be a member of the Board of Regulators of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators and that the members of the Administrative Board are to act independently and objectively in the interest of the Union as a whole.

(3) On 24 May 2024, the Council adopted a Decision (2) appointing two alternates to the Administrative Board for a period ending on 28 January 2026. On 30 January 2025, one of those alternates, Mr Jean-Laurent LASTELLE, resigned as alternate of the Administrative Board.

(4) The Council should appoint an alternate to replace Mr Jean-Laurent LASTELLE for the remainder of his term of office,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Mr Attila NYIKOS (Hungary) is hereby appointed as alternate to the Administrative Board of the European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators, with a mandate ending on 28 January 2026.

Article 2

This Decision shall enter into force on the date of its adoption.
