DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 140/2026

amending Annex IX (Financial services) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1513]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Regulation (EU) 2022/2036 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 amending Regulation (EU) No 575/2013 and Directive 2014/59/EU as regards the prudential treatment of global systemically important institutions with a multiple-point-of-entry resolution strategy and methods for the indirect subscription of instruments eligible for meeting the minimum requirement for own funds and eligible liabilities ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Annex IX to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following indent is added in points 14a (Regulation (EU) No 575/2013) and 19b (Directive 2014/59/EU) of Annex IX to the EEA Agreement:

32022 R 2036 : Regulation (EU) 2022/2036 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 19 October 2022 ( OJ L 275, 25.10.2022, p.1 ).’

Article 2

The text of Regulation (EU) 2022/2036 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 1 May 2026, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
