DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 148/2026

amending Annex XIII (Transport) to the EEA Agreement [2026/1523]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/253 of 6 February 2026 on a technical specification relating to the telematics subsystem of the rail system in the European Union for interoperability of data sharing in rail transport (‘TEL TSI’) and repealing Regulations (EU) No 454/2011 (‘TAP TSI’) and (EU) No 1305/2014 (‘TAF TSI’) ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/253 repeals Commission Regulations (EU) No 454/2011 ( 2 ) and (EU) No 1305/2014 ( 3 ) , which are incorporated into the EEA Agreement, and which are consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement.

(3) Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Annex XIII to the EEA Agreement is amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 37pf (Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2020/424):

‘37pg.

32026 R 0253 : Commission Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/253 of 6 February 2026 on a technical specification relating to the telematics subsystem of the rail system in the European Union for interoperability of data sharing in rail transport (‘TEL TSI’) and repealing Regulations (EU) No 454/2011 (‘TAP TSI’) and (EU) No 1305/2014 (‘TAF TSI’) ( OJ L, 2026/253, 10.2.2026 ).’

The texts of points 37dj (Commission Regulation (EU) No 454/2011) and 37h (Commission Regulation (EU) No 1305/2014) are deleted.

Article 2

The text of Implementing Regulation (EU) 2026/253 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 1 May 2026, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
