SECTION 1. SHORT TITLE.
This Act may be cited as the “Improving Trauma Care Act of 2014”.
SEC. 2. TRAUMA DEFINITION.
(a) Paragraph (4) of section 1231 of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300d–31) is amended to read as follows:
(a)“(4) The term ‘trauma’ means an injury resulting from exposure to—
(a)“(4)“(A) a mechanical force; or
(a)“(4)“(B) another extrinsic agent, including an extrinsic agent that is thermal, electrical, chemical, or radioactive.”

(b) Paragraph (3) of section 1261(h) of the Public Health Service Act (42 U.S.C. 300d–61(h)) is amended to read as follows:
(b)“(3) The term ‘trauma’ means an injury resulting from exposure to—
(b)“(3)“(A) a mechanical force; or
(b)“(3)“(B) another extrinsic agent, including an extrinsic agent that is thermal, electrical, chemical, or radioactive.”
