§ 1239.1 Scope.

This part establishes a consumer product safety standard for gates and enclosures.

§ 1239.2 Requirements for gates and enclosures.

Each gate and enclosure must comply with all applicable provisions of ASTM F1004-25, Standard Consumer Safety Specification for Expansion Gates and Expandable Enclosures, approved on December 1, 2025. The Director of the Federal Register approves this incorporation by reference in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 552(a) and 1 CFR part 51. This incorporation by reference material is available for inspection at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) and at the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).
