DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 24/2026

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) to the EEA Agreement [2026/980]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2025/1802 of 8 September 2025 amending Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards an exemption for lead in high melting temperature solders ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2025/2363 of 8 September 2025 amending Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards an exemption for lead in glass or ceramic components ( 2 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(3) Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2025/2364 of 8 September 2025 amending Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards an exemption for lead as an alloying element in steel, aluminium and copper ( 3 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(4) Annex II to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

The following indents are added in point 12q (Directive 2011/65/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council) of Chapter XV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement:

32025 L 1802 : Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2025/1802 of 8 September 2025 ( OJ L, 2025/1802, 21.11.2025 ),

— 32025 L 2363 : Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2025/2363 of 8 September 2025 ( OJ L, 2025/2363, 21.11.2025 ),

— 32025 L 2364 : Commission Delegated Directive (EU) 2025/2364 of 8 September 2025 ( OJ L, 2025/2364, 21.11.2025 ).’

Article 2

The texts of Delegated Directives (EU) 2025/1802, (EU) 2025/2363 and (EU) 2025/2364 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 3

This Decision shall enter into force on 7 February 2026, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 4

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
