DECISION OF THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE No 194/2025

amending Annex II (Technical regulations, standards, testing and certification) and Annex IV (Energy) to the EEA Agreement [2026/10]

THE EEA JOINT COMMITTEE,

Having regard to the Agreement on the European Economic Area (“the EEA Agreement”), and in particular Article 98 thereof,

Whereas:

(1) Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 of 3 July 2024 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for fans driven by motors with an electric input power between 125 W and 500 kW and repealing Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011 ( 1 ) is to be incorporated into the EEA Agreement.

(2) Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 repeals, with effect from 24 July 2026, Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011 ( 2 ) , which is incorporated into the EEA Agreement and which is consequently to be repealed under the EEA Agreement with effect from 24 July 2026. However, Annexes I, II and III to that Regulation, shall continue to apply until 24 July 2037, in relation to fans integrated into other products and in relation to spare part fans.

(3) Annexes II and IV to the EEA Agreement should therefore be amended accordingly,

HAS ADOPTED THIS DECISION:

Article 1

Chapter IV of Annex II to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 6y (Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1784):

‘6z.

32024 R 1834 : Commission Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 of 3 July 2024 implementing Directive 2009/125/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council with regard to ecodesign requirements for fans driven by motors with an electric input power between 125 W and 500 kW and repealing Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011 ( OJ L, 2024/1834, 4.7.2024 ).’

The text of point 6d (Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011) shall be deleted with effect from 24 July 2037.

Article 2

Annex IV to the EEA Agreement shall be amended as follows:

The following point is inserted after point 26z (Commission Regulation (EU) 2019/1784):

‘26za.

The text of point 26e (Commission Regulation (EU) No 327/2011) shall be deleted with effect from 24 July 2037.

Article 3

The text of Regulation (EU) 2024/1834 in the Icelandic and Norwegian languages, to be published in the EEA Supplement to the Official Journal of the European Union , shall be authentic.

Article 4

This Decision shall enter into force on 20 September 2025, provided that all the notifications under Article 103(1) of the EEA Agreement have been made ( *1 ) .

Article 5

This Decision shall be published in the EEA Section of, and in the EEA Supplement to, the Official Journal of the European Union .
